Family Literacy/Parent Involvement Mini Grant
Three grants of $3,300 each will be awarded on December 6, 2011, so don’t delay in sending your proposal electronically to Pat Latham or Stephaney Jones-Vo, due November 30, 2011. Title III Mini-Grant to Support Districts in Providing Access to the CORE through Differentiated Materials for Content Classes and the Development of Language

Iowa Culture and Language Conference
November 8-9, 2011

Coralville, Iowa
Title III will fund participation in this statewide pre-conference and conference. Title III will reimburse for registration, substitutes and provide a travel stipend based on the number of teachers attending the conference (5 or fewer-$150, 6-10-$300 per district). Districts are encouraged to send a team. Districts will be reimbursed following submission of the claim form, which will be available after the conference from Pat Latham. Full attendance is required for reimbursement.

Collaboration and Co-Teaching
November 11-12, 2011 & April 28, 2012

Andrea Honigsfeld and Maria Dove, authors of Collaboration and Co-Teaching Strategies: Strategies for English Language Learners. will address the fundamental questions, issues and structures about collaboration and co-teaching to help ELLs be successful in the classroom. While participants are welcome to attend the class for no credit, there is a two a 2-credit option available.
