STEM Scale-Up Application Window is Open

Did you know that since 2012, the STEM Council has partnered with schools to provide STEM curricula and activities for up to 100,000 Iowa students? This could be your chance to provide your learners with access to some of the best, cutting-edge STEM programs available today!

These programs range from building robots and coding programs to conducting agricultural field experiences and learning about STEM careers. All went through a rigorous review process at both the national and state level, demonstrating an appeal to diverse youth, success in improving academic performance, evidence of integrating STEM concepts, development of school-business-community partnerships and sustainability beyond STEM Council financial support.

Introducing the 2021-22 STEM Scale-Up Program Menu - Application Opens Jan. 11

The Iowa Governor’s STEM Advisory Council selects some of the state’s and nation’s high-quality programs and offers their professional development/training and materials to Iowa educators through the STEM Scale-Up Program. Each year, the STEM Council equips thousands of educators with STEM programs that inspire nearly 100,000 Iowa youth.

One of the priorities of the STEM Council is to achieve STEM for All! That means, any formal or informal Iowa educator is eligible to apply. The STEM Scale-Up Program application is open for educators from Jan. 11 to March 5, 2021.

2020-21 STEM Scale-Up Programs Announced

The Iowa Governor’s STEM Advisory Council is offering 13 exemplary STEM programs to provide high-quality STEM education offerings to schools, afterschool programs and other settings for grades pre-K through 12 throughout the state.

The 2020-21 STEM Scale-Up Programs range from building robots and coding programs to conducting agricultural field experiences and learning about STEM careers. All went through a rigorous review process at both the national and state level, demonstrating an appeal to diverse youth, success in improving academic performance, evidence of integrating STEM concepts, development of school-business-community partnerships and sustainability beyond STEM Council financial support.

Iowa's Educators Who Want to Continue Inspiring Students in STEM Now Have an Opportunity!

Through legislative appropriation, the Iowa Governor’s STEM Advisory Council is able to offer exemplary STEM programs throughout the state. The STEM Scale-Up Program has demonstrated success in increasing student interest and achievement in STEM across all demographics. Through a rigorous review process, the STEM Council selected nine programs to be offered on the 2018-19 STEM Scale-Up Program menu to provide high-quality STEM education offerings to schools, after-school programs and other settings for grades PK through 12.The 2018-19 Scale-Up Program application will open Jan. 22 and remain open until March 5, 2018. The Scale-Up program menu ranges from coding programs to hands-on biotechnology and agriculture projects to STEM career exploration. STEM Scale-Up Program Application Rapidly Approaching

The Iowa Governor’s STEM Advisory Council is now taking applications for the 2016-17 STEM Scale-up Programs. Online applications are due March 1 for 11 programs, some of which are new this year. Heartland AEA staff are available to partner with you to help determine which of these programs will meet the needs of your district.
