Great Prairie AEA is thrilled to offer three exciting opportunities for evaluator courses and Fierce Conversations training this summer. Led by the experienced instructor, Anne Morgan, all sessions will be conducted via Zoom and are open to individuals from across the state who wish to participate.
- Fierce Conversations is designed to enhance your skills in leading and engaging in effective conversations. It equips you with the tools to navigate important discussions successfully.
- Investigations focuses on conducting investigations related to bullying/harassment, as well as covers Level 1 of Chapter 102. Throughout the sessions, guest attorneys will provide valuable insights, taking you deeper into relevant topics. There are two sections of the same class. In case of scheduling conflicts, participants may switch to a different class session on the same day of the rotation, provided there are enough participants to facilitate the class.
Districts that prefer to have their entire team take the Investigations course simultaneously are asked to contact Anne Morgan with Great Prairie AEA to arrange dates. A minimum of 10 participants is required for this arrangement.

Learners will engage in a variety of instructional methods (group processing, modeling, lecture, group presentations, coaching) to accomplish these learning goals:
- utilize the transformational ideas and seven principles that define a Fierce Conversation in group and real-life situations
- identify key conversations that will support individual professional development and the development of the organization
- prepare and implement Team Conversation, Coaching Conversation, Delegation Conversation and Confrontation Conversation
- develop and submit a personal communication plan

Investigations: Bullying and Section 102 Level 1
3 different opportunities, virtual in the morning. Administrators and counselors are encouraged to attend to refresh learning about investigations. Seats are still available!

This course reviews bullying investigations and Section 102s (briefly the difference between Title IX and Section 102), conversations with attorneys. It also includes a recorded zoom with two students talking about social media apps and how they work.

Professional Standards That Support Students' Academic Success and Well-Being
This course is best suited for teams to attend together; most beneficial to include teacher leaders. The course unpacks the new administrator standards but with a lens on SEL of students and leads to planning for the future. Class meets twice then a third time at a later date with your team.

A new course option is now available through Heartland AEA. “Fierce Conversations” provides the skills that empower administrators to have conversations that are critical to their success in schools and in classrooms.
